Children's Eco Training

A Once In A Lifetime Opportunity

Pretorian Technologies have previously worked alongside Elephant's Drift Safari Lodge and Children's Eco Training to give twenty disadvantaged South African children the opportunity to participate in a unique project.

Our aim, as best described by Corné Havenga, CEO of Children's Eco Training, was:

Pretorian Technologies Aim

The children arrived at Elephant's Drift for a residential weekend on March 14th 2014 and took part in a variety of activities aimed to increase their awareness of the pristine environment which lies on their doorstep.

Prior to their visit, Richard and Karen Goss (the owners of Elephant’s Drift) commented:

We have been looking for an opportunity to work with Children's Eco Training for some time and we are very much looking forward to providing the children with a wonderful experience that they will never forget. It will be hard work, but lots of fun!
Elephants Drift

The idea for this project came to our managing director, Dave Gilbert, while on a family holiday at Elephant's Drift in the summer of 2013:

We had the most amazing time at Elephant’s Drift and I made a promise to myself to give something back. Each year Pretorian makes a donation to a charitable cause around Christmas and we usually try to make it benefit children in some way, so it made perfect sense for us to work with Children’s Eco Training.

He added:

This is a much bigger initiative than we have ever taken before, but it's so fitting. It's one thing to anonymously donate a few goats at Christmas but it's quite another to help with a project where we know the people involved and the local area in which the event will take place.
I believe it’s one of the most significant events in the history of Pretorian
and I can't tell you how excited I am about this.
